1 Peter 2:4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious. NKJV
If we are completely honest with ourselves, we have all done things that we regret. We have been, and probably still are, judged by others. This can cause us to withdraw. We feel guilty. We consider ourselves worthless. Yet, the Bible clearly defines each one of us as a person of great value to God.
Don’t be dejected if you have make bad choices in life. We, as humans, are not perfect. It is not the end of the world.
We are not placed on earth to please mankind, but God alone. Oh, we should care about one another but not place anyone on a pedestal.
The trouble is that the world and all its demands and criticisms tend to creep in and mislead us – even the strongest of us.
When we make bad choices, the guilt can be insurmountable. It continually reminds us of our wrong. To rid ourselves of such emotional torture we need to accept our wrongdoing, ask God’s forgiveness, then forgive ourselves. The latter is not easy to do. After all, our misdemeanours like to haunt us.
The Bible is clear – ‘you are precious’ it tells us, and the Bible is truth.
Go on – say it out loud – ‘I AM PRECIOUS.’ Then – believe it.
God thinks you are, so why don’t you?
Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. NKJV
Prayer: Abba, help us to forgive ourselves as you forgive us. Help us to realize that we truly are precious, in Your eyes. Amen.
