It’s a long weekend in Canada.
Family Day was created some years back to give families an opportunity to spend some extra quality time together, also to alleviate the winter blues at the mid-point of the season when cold, snow and ice have overstayed their welcome.
This morning a frost clung to the trees. It was a lovely sight on an otherwise frigid winter morning. The temperature is minus 17 feeling more like minus 25 when windchill is factored in.
It doesn’t feel quite so bad when everything around you appears to be coated with crystals.
So, while we eagerly anticipate the coming of spring be advised that maple syrup farmers are beginning to set the lines ready to collect that sweet delight once again. That’s a sure sign that we are nearing the end of winter.
I hope you are blessed to spend time with your families.
Happy Family Day weekend!
