On Saturday, November 16, 2019. our library held a showcase for local authors.
I was encouraged to go by friend and (prolific) writer, Brenda Wood, http://heartfeltdevotionals.com.
Together we gathered up our publications and headed out.
We set up and waited for the arrival of the public, and for the start of proceedings. Our fellow writer, Linda Smith, joined us, bringing a beautiful selection of her publications.
Other authors in attendance were, Michael Walton, (www.apok.ca) Kaja Blackley, (MaggieMacCormack.com) Simon Heath, Raimo Strangis and Tony Commisso. Each brought a significant selection of genres to the showcase.
Each author was given a generous space to display their books. This was a nice surprise; often, one has to squeeze into a small area, and be thankful for it.
The afternoon was refreshing and inspiring. The authors who made the trip entertained, and were entertained with the individual stories of each of the other writers, sharing their journey travelled on the writer’s trail.
The afternoon ended with everyone moved, or encouraged, by what had been shared. I found myself filled with admiration for each author. Who, despite hardships of various kinds, persevered and overcame, becoming a success in what is a very competitive field.
Thanks goes to Alicja Procaccini for her efforts, making the showcase a success story too.
